ISRO working to manage Space debris

India has put in place appropriate measures to manage the increasing space debris in low earth orbit comprising defunct satellites, discarded rocket stages and other orbital trash, Union minister Jitendra Singh told the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. In reply to a written question, Singh said India's space agency Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been an active member of the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC) and has contributed immensely to the IADC and UN guidelines for safe and sustainable space operations.
