BEML Secures 385 crore orders for high mobility command post vehicles!

Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. (BEML), a prominent Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), has achieved a significant milestone by securing a substantial order valued at 385 crore from Bharat Electronics (BEL) and Bharat Dynamics (BDL). The order is set to bolster the Indian Army's capabilities through the supply of high-mobility vehicles specifically designed for deployment as Command Post Vehicles, a critical component in modern battlefield communication and coordination.

Renowned for its proficiency in manufacturing and supplying top-tier defence equipment, BEML has successfully clinched the contract to provide advanced Command Post Vehicles, which serve as mobile command centers. These vehicles are equipped with cutting-edge technologies that facilitate seamless communication, information dissemination, and decision-making on the battlefield, ensuring military commanders remain connected and responsive in challenging operational environments.

BEML holds the license to manufacture Czech Tatra trucks in India, renowned for their versatility and adaptability. These trucks have proven their worth in various defence applications, including troop transport, artillery movement, and missile transport. Additionally, they can be armed with weapon systems like Pinaka rockets and other surface-to-surface missile setups, thereby enhancing their combat capabilities.

BEML offers a range of high mobility vehicle (HM) variants based on Tatra trucks, including configurations like T816 and T815, spanning from 4×4 to 12×12. These vehicles are tailored to navigate diverse terrains and harsh weather conditions, ensuring the efficient mobility of troops and equipment during critical operations.

The use of Tatra all-weather all-terrain trucks in the Indian Army is well-established; these vehicles are integral to military logistics and transportation operations. With an inventory of over 8,000 TATRA vehicles, the armed forces have recognized their reliability and performance. As India advances towards modernizing its defence capabilities, the demand for technologically superior replacements for older vehicles has grown significantly.
