On 5 February, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) issued a revised order clarifying that consumption of non-vegetarian food is permitted within a 10-kilometer radius of the Yelahanka air station.
However, the civic body has stated that strict waste disposal methods should be followed in the vicinity of the air force station.
"It was requested to take up the action towards closure of meat/chicken/fish selling activities within 10 km of AFS Yelahika with effect from 30 Jan 23 to 20 Feb 2023," stated the order. The activities undertaken by your office in this regard have been well received, and your field officers have begun implementation in a well-planned manner."
"However, Air Force authorities have received a large number of inquiries regarding the restrictions on the consumption of non-vegetarian food within a 10-kilometer radius of Air Force Station Yelahanka," the order stated.
The BBMP clarified, "Closure of all meat chicken/fish selling shops and slaughterhouses within a 10 km radius of Air Force Station Yelahanka is to be ensured up to 20 Feb 2023."
"Consumption of non-vegetarian foods such as meat/chicken/fish may be permitted. However, stringent waste disposal measures must be implemented to reduce bird activity near the airfield and ensure the safe operation of Aero India 2023," it stated.
The Aero India Show will take place from February 13 to February 17.
According to Aero India's website, a total of 731 exhibitors have registered, with 633 being Indian and 98 being foreign. Delegates from over 55 countries and over 540 exhibitors had previously participated in 2021.
According to PTI, giants like Lockheed Martin will display its F-21 fighter jet, S-92 multi-role helicopter, MH-60R Romeo multi-mission chopper, and anti-tank weapon Javelin at the upcoming Aero-India exhibition in Bengaluru.
Almost all of the world's leading aerospace companies are expected to attend the event, which will take place at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka on an area of around 35,000 square meters. Lockheed Martin has positioned its F-21 fighter jet as the best option in the Indian Air Force's search for 114 combat jets.
PM Modi will kick off the biennial airshow. Aero India, a premier aerospace exhibition, has held 13 successful editions in Bengaluru since 1996.
The five-day event will include a major aerospace and defence trade exhibition as well as an aerial display by the IAF. Aside from global leaders and major investors in the aerospace industry, think tanks from around the world will attend the show.
Aero India will offer a unique platform for the exchange of information, ideas, and new developments in the aviation industry. In addition to boosting the domestic aviation industry, it would help the Make in India movement.
The general visitor ticket price (for Exhibition and ADVA) is Rs. 2500 for Indian nationals and $50 for foreign nationals. The ticket price for ADVA visitors is 1000 for Indian nationals and $50 for foreign nationals.
Business visitor tickets cost 5,000 rupees for Indian nationals and $150 for foreign nationals. The prices for all types of passes include GST.
